Get a pot of water hot, but not boiling. Med high heat put tube on cable and dip will shrink right up! Good way to start the corrosion process early... How is it going to corrode? The metal cable never gets wet with the heat shrink on it! You shrink it holding the ends just out of the water then trim it up and your done. I Have done it on 2 different summit stands.

It wouldn't matter how specific you were or if you invented the dang process and had a patent on it. This is aldeer someone will still tell you that you are wrong.
One day the right woman will come along and the next thing you know you'll be wearing her underwear!

Just the fact that dipping the cables in water would put moisture in the cables and could start the process of corrosion... Pretty sure that no one wants to climb a tree in a climber that has a corroded cable.
