So my dad collects firearms. Nothing in particular, just whatever catches his eye. He buys them and puts them in the safe. Never shoots them, loads them or anything. About 6 months ago he gives me a Sig Sauer P238 .380 to carry in my pocket. The pistol wouldn't load a bullet into the chamber when the slide was pulled back and released. It pushed it halfway and stopped. I figured the magazine spring may be stiff due to being new so I thought it would loosen up but six months later it never has. I took it to Simmons, where it was bought, and showed them what was going on and that I have never shot the pistol. They changed magazines and shot the pistol several times and decided something was definitely wrong with it. Since it was in my dad's name, they had him come down with his receipt, which we always keep, and swapped it out for the exact pistol, no questions asked. Here's the kicker of the whole thing. Dad originally bought the pistol in 2009. He's had it for 5 years and they still took care of it. THAT is service!!

I love Ray too. About as much as he loves it. Joker has been "retired" for a couple years and everytime I go there he is working. My dad's be buying from him for years and I continued what he started. He tells me its the customers that he misses the most when he is off.

I've always liked shopping at Simmons. Been treated right there everytime I've visited. Good folks.

Simmons is good people, love to do business with them.
But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?

Normally I take my 12ga 870 completely apart after turkey season for cleaning. It's amazing how rough chasin turkeys is on a gun. Well I decided to do the sabe on my sons youth model 20ga 870. 3hrs of tinkering and YouTube I couldn't get it back together. I take it up there hoping Ray was there. Fortunately he was. He said sure I'll get it back together for you no problem. 45mins later he brings it out reassembled and sweating like a dog and said DO NOT TAKE IT APART AGAIN!! Politely of course. He said he didn't know the design was somewhat different and some spray bore cleaner should be fine from here on out. He laughed about it and I thanked him for his help. Best business in town if you as me. Worked for several years with Brian up there and he's s great guy too. John the fisherman knows his stuff and can fish. He's a tournament fisher though so don't expect him to tell you everything. I fished against him one and the joker brought in a 20+ lb limit. Kicker was he had a 20lb limit in another tournament the day before. Deg good people up there and they are convient for me.

About 8 years ago I went to Mark's with $1500 dollars in my pocket to buy a left hand Benelli SBE II. I stood at the gun counter glass and was not even spoken to for over 30 mins while the guys wearing suits fingered every thing they asked for. I turned around, went to my truck and called Simmons. Dale picked up the phone, said they had one in stock. When I got there he had it waiting on me and passed other customers off to his co-workers till I checked out. I've bought multiple guns from them since then and will continue in the future. These guys do it right and recive the highest recommendation from me. Holy crap....I had the EXACT same experience 3 yrs ago...I mean even the EXACT same gun. We had been at Childrens Hospital for my son's Dr Appt and on the way home, I walked in with the intention of walking out with an Left-handed SBE2. couldn't get anyone to help me for 15 or 20 minutes. when I finally got someone to acknowledge me I asked to see the gun and the guy sighed really heavily and stared at me for a second like he was waiting for the punchline to a joke, then rolled his eyes and turned around to get the gun. I told him to forget and that he'd just lost a guaranteed sale. seriously doubt they cared though. Simmons dominates Marks in every way. If I woke up one morning and turned on the news to see that Marks Outdoors was on fire, I'd call into work, drive to Bham and stand in the parking lot and point and laugh while it burned to the ground.

Just to be fair, I only had one experience with Simmons but it was not good. I needed a part for my scope and the salesman ridiculed my equipment and kept talking about it in front of other customers. I will never go back. By the way, he was not as knowledgeable as he thought. I do know other people that like Simmons. Just my experience.

Me too.several years ago when i turned 21 I was looking for a pistol keltec p 11 I think it was not a super expensive gun but I couldn't find one in tuscaloosa in plain black. I called marks to see if they had one i was told they did drove all the way to hoover waited a good 15-20 minutes for someone to help me even though it wasn't very busy when one of them finally did come over I told him what I was looking for and he showed me the only one they had it was navy blue with a chrome slide. I was all kinds of pissed off.
We will burn that bridge when we get there
