I've been saving this spot so far this year. I've got a thick hardwood area (bedding area maybe?) to the east and north of my stand. Several food plots in the area(the green circled areas), none will be visible from my climber. The big one is about a 10 acre field.

Wind will be coming from the NNE and I'll be parking my truck on the road south of the stand location (there's a gate there that I'll park at) and take my climber in with me. I'll be watching the cutover area to the west and north, hoping that some deer will skirt that corner in the open cutover instead of staying in the treeline.

What do you think?

If it was me, I'd be a little closer to one of those fields for a PM hunt (orange). For a morning hunt (and NOT a NE wind), the stand site looks good to me. Good luck ...

You're back!

I like your current stand setup for the rut, ie seeing as much ground as possible. The only part I don't like is that you're facing west and the setting sun in the SW. I like my back to be facing the sun because you can see a few minutes later in the PM.

How far is the stand from the western most food plot?

This is going to be my morning hunt site for tomorrow. I killed a doe out of the big food plot last Friday afternoon. I'll be facing west during the morning so the sun should be behind me, which might block some of my movement depending on what time it is.

I'd say the stand is about 1500 yards from the big food plot

It's funny, but two of the 4 orange places you marked have a shooting house or a climber already on them lol. There's a shooting house to the south of the big field at the bottom, would be perfect for a N wind, but I don't like hunting food plots in the mornings. Killed a doe there last Friday afternoon
