When was the last time YOU refused to buy something made in China?
Just about on a daily basis. Except for chinese food... I love that stuff. Plus, like Toyotas, they are made in America

Bush Sr, Clinton, and the others have allowed Corporate Capitalism which relies on slave wage labor to grow in China. By doing this with Cuba, the Obama regime is just showing that they want the same type of government here where regular people do not have options, only those who are loyal to the party have a decent shot at life. So, past presidents allowed trade with China and that caused changes to China’s society (not the US), but somehow allowing trade with Cuba (who exports a fraction of the goods China does) is somehow going to magically change the fabric of America? I don’t see the correlation here. Don’t get me wrong, I am no Obama apologist or fan, but this is practically a non-issue.

Dislike most of Obama's policies, but applaud this Cuba move.
I'd like to buy some cigars and maybe vacation down there. The Europeans vacation there plenty. EXACTLY! Cuba isn't a player anymore, not that they were really, but since the Soviet Union dissolved it's just a third world Caribbean island. I say we annex it, turn it into a money maker for the economy.

When a people have the desire, resources, and motivation to fight off an oppressive government, they will.
What are they going to fight of an oppressive government with? Rocks and bottle grenades? Ask the people in Syria how that's going. Ask the people in the Ukraine how that's going. Same reason Obama wants to take guns from law abiding citizens, because at some point we will have nothing to fight back an oppressive government with. And why is that? Because that's the kind of government he believes in.

The way i see it is that the embargo hurts the average cuban people more than the folks in charge. The people in power have ways to skirt the trade laws. If we are going to have economic sanctions against Cuba, they should affect the leaders more than the people. Not the every day folks who have a tougher time making ends meet because of our laws. If Cuba grows its middle class, i imagine the regime's hold on power will continue to decline. x2

Relations eventually needed to be normalized, but this is the wrong way of going about it.
1. wait till Fidel Castro kicks the bucket.
2. then tell Rauol (sp.?) that he must renounce communism and all aspects of totalitarianism and State economy.
3. THEN move forward with normalization.
4. And the Cubans in South Florida would have to be properly consulted, advised and have their input considered.
