He is dealing with a murderous , communist regime that supports terrorism because they are the model for what he wants us to become. What happens to the financial aid we give to other dictatorial regimes? The regime reaps the benefits and the people stay oppressed and poor. What good will come from helping a regime that is actively involved in sponsoring terrorism? It sounds real nice and humane but what real world results will the Cuban people see?

If you talk to some real Cubans you will think differently. Basically, there are two kinds of Cubans, those who work for the Communist party and those who do not. The one's who do not are the one's who run here for a fair shot at life. This move by Obama just shows that he approves of a Communist dictatorial way of doing things.

China = communist. We have free trade and travel with them, borrow $$$ from them, and nobody complains.

Russia = use to be commies (arguably still are by practical standards) and were the ones loading the ammo up in Cuba. We have free trade and travel with them.

Cuba = was a small pawn in the USSR's machine (just like Ukraine) yet we've shunned them due to their proximity to our border. Perhaps having a real working relationship with the people of Cuba will win them over to becoming allies instead of enemies.

Japan = ACTUALLY BOMBED U.S. SOIL, yet we trade/travel with them like nobody's business.

Chinese people are still moving here in droves for a fair shot at life because they have no options under the Communist regime. Bush Sr, Clinton, and the others have allowed Corporate Capitalism which relies on slave wage labor to grow in China. By doing this with Cuba, the Obama regime is just showing that they want the same type of government here where regular people do not have options, only those who are loyal to the party have a decent shot at life.

We conquered the Japanese and MADE them see the error of their ways. Toyota's are damn near 100% American manufactured now. Sure some of the profit goes back to Japan, as it should. In the other hand, we have not conquered Russia or China.
