It's yet to be told I guess...but I think Gus can and will adapt. I think the single biggest step in that process will be handing the offense off the JJ next year. I understand why he felt it necessary to hang with Marshall this year, and all things considered, Marshall had a pretty dang successful 2 year career here.

I believe things will be stabilized a lot by a QB that can be trusted to hit a man-sized target on a regular basis. Marshall couldn't...we'll miss his elusiveness some, but I'm sick of his inaccuracy. If it weren't for people (mainly Duke) turning backflips to catch his chit passes I don't believe he would've shown any improvement at all over last year.

I agree with much of what Dustin points out about the EJ firing. He has certainly absorbed more blame and consequences than he deserves. However, IF we get Muschamp then I (along with the bulk of the fanbase) will see it as a fortuitously timed trade...nothing more. He's an upgrade...I don't think it's much of a debate. If Muschamp declines then we'll see...it could certainly still turn out to be a mistake.

My sources tell me that Muschamp is they're new DC...Other than a few folks Gus wants and who he wants its a done deal...

I'd love to see a change in Special Teams but we've had the same Special Teams Coach for 8 years I guess.

I just think there are a lot of stats that get over looked.
When Gus get's behind he becomes one dimensional.
They were burning UA on the long ball because the corners were trying to play the run and pass. Once they got behind they went exclusive passing.
They were running 2:1 prior to that.

Sure the defense looks like they suck in the 1st half but again I think that is because the offense is putting them in such a bad situation.
The best they've done is two TD against aTm in the 4th. Otherwise that 4th Qtr Offense is pitiful and those crappy starts are what's hurting the defense.

So is the answer to average 50 a game or to try to get the defense to give up a few less points? I'd think you would try to improve the defense if the offense is already near the tops in the league in scoring. No one's saying that Malzhan couldn't have done better in some games but the defense didn't perform well for an entire game that I can remember.
