^^^This. I don't know if I have a specific time, but I want to be fully up and settled before light cracks.

I personally don't care to use a light when walking into my stand. So I try to wait till I can at least see what I'm about to step on two feet in front of me or so, but that's just me.

No way I'd get in the stand that early. Too cold and dark for me. I like it to be a little light when I get in there. No sense in freezing for 30 minutes in the dark.

I prefer to hunt my way in. I can be much quieter as well. I'll leave the truck when the sky just starts to lighten and once I get to the area I slow WAY down. Rarely have I seen deer right at daylight anyway.

I like for it to crack a little daylight so I don't have to use a light and I can see a little. Going in pitch black you shine a light everywhere or either beat and bang around the woods making all kind of noise. I like to be able to slip in.

Really just depends on the spot and weather conditions. If I'm hunting a trail leading from a food source to a bedding area I want to be there real early. If it's a real thick area that's easy to get turned around in or a spot where I don't have my tree already picked out I'll wait until it's just breaking light.
