The police want the decision to be announced at night. Working people are at home and off the streets. It's easier to close off sections of the city and less innocent people get in the way of police doing their jobs.

The police want the decision to be announced at night. Working people are at home and off the streets. It's easier to close off sections of the city and less innocent people get in the way of police doing their jobs. OK that actually makes some sense. I hadn't thought of it from that perspective.

Police need to mandate that media be represented by a mere handful and the rest go home. Seems to me there's a media person for every rioter.
