Watching the video of people with bats breaking into buildings...why weren't there owners of those businesses stacking bodies? If that were mine it would have been hard to not be there protecting my livelihood.

One man with a gun is no match for a wave of savages. As much as I would hate to see my business destroyed by a bunch of free loading democrats, I had lots rather live to support my family. Now if they start breaking into my house, all bets are off and they are gonna die!!

If one or two of the looters are blown apart and are flopping like fish on the ground, it wouldn't take long for the onlookers to find some place else to loot. If the doors are open and they have free reign of the place everyone is going to run in and tear the place to the ground. Imagine what buckshot could do to a swarm of these thugs.

If it was my business that I built to support my family and our way of life I would have built a bunker inside my store and it would have been heavily fortified. A duzen or so claymore mines would have been strategically placed along the front to greet first wave of thugs. Someone should have stood up to these punks.

My guess is that what most did to prepare was up their business interruption & property coverages, so when this went predictably south they could file their claim and move the h*!! away from that 3rd world country.

Me and ten of my friends could have kept Flourison Avenue safe last night and not a single building would have got burned. You cap a couple of those chimps and the rest will leave.

In reality, I wouldn't rest my livelihood on a business anchored in the middle of that type of crap. The businesses there have had since August to pull up shop and move. We all saw this coming. They've been very public about what they were going to do - either way the decision went. It didn't matter to the ones in the streets. They were going to use this as an excuse to act the way they did. They didn't care about the outcome of the grand jury or anything else, all they knew was they were going to cause problems. Smart business owners see that and do what they have to in order to survive, even if it means doing business somewhere else.

Also, I wouldn't be bunkered down inside a business protecting replacable objects when that crap went down. I'd be fulfilling the role I take in my family and protecting my wife and children, and doing so from somewhere away from ground zero. I would put them first on the protection list, and inventory or building would be last.
