Kansas, but only because it is practically impossible to get a tag every year (maybe even every other year) in Iowa.

I would think Wisconsin would be the highest yield with the most B&C records.

Kentucky. Would probably rather hunt in Iowa or Illinois, but Kentucky has similar potential, and it's only about a 5-6 hour drive from here.

If we are wishing, I'll take 5000 acres of woods/AG prop/CRP in any of Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, or Kansas and I'll be just fine.

Is Wisconsin considered midwest? That gets my vote.

Give me 500ac in western ky and if be happy happy happy! Over the counter tags that are reasonably cheap in comparison plus s 2 week rifle season.

All farms in the Midwest do not hold big deer. I don't care what state you choose. It simply comes down to habitat, the amount of acreage and most importantly who you have for neighbors. You can not and will not control the deer on the typical Midwest property you will lease. If you have bad neighbors you are at their mercy if your lease does not have the habitat to hold and protect a few deer. These locals only get a limited amount of gun season. With that said 90% of them shoot the woods up at any and everything.

My top 3 choices are.

Iowa
Kansas
Illinois & Kentucky both are in same league.
