I'm in the market for a new rangefinder. I've never used one with the arc feature, is it worth it? Any suggestions on ones that yall have had good luck with?

I've never seen the need for it here. If you're gonna hunt in steep elevation out West, maybe. The next one I get won't have it, if there is such a thing anymore.

I use a basic Nikon and have been very happy with it. I don't hunt areas very steep anyway.

I have the Leupold 1200i. I like the red numbers it displays. Easier to see in low light.

Nope. I've shot ranges from 10-40 yards at as steep an angle as I could find and rarely have seen over 2-3 yards difference.

I have an old Nikon with the angle comp. I use it in the evenings on green fields. I pick out landmarks and get the range out to 60. I have never needed it in the hardwoods.

I've never used a rangefinder with the ARC feature, so I can't speak for that...

I've had a Simmons 400 yard rangefinder for a few years and I've been pleased with it. These rangefinders are very reasonable; I believe I bought mine from Sportman's Guide for ~$100.
