Went across my lease to a spot I have never been. About dark I found these. What kind of tree is this?

At first I thought it was a Royal Paulownia but I don't think that's right. Thinking......

I'll guess paw paw. One leaf is very hard to identify.

That would be my guess. Some of the leaves should have a "thumb" which will make them look like mittens. If none of them have that "thumb" then it's something else.

First guess is Mulberry, definitely not a paulownia. Are there any other leaves from that tree available? A mulberry should have some on there that have the odd shaped, deep lobed leaves. Second guess is some kind of Basswood, but I've never seen a Basswood leaf that big, but that leaf base doesn't exactly match a Mulberry leaf base. May be a Basswood local to your area I've never seen, I think it is a type of Basswood after consideration.

I think it's a basswood leaf. Most of the local loggers here call them Lind. You will usually find them on shady slopes in real rich dirt around here.
