Saw an article years ago about a guy in the mid-West(I think)0finding a fairly intact steamship buried in a farm field about a mile from the current river bed. It had changed that much.

No idea when it happened, but the lower Cahaba in Perry co made big changes like that at some point. There are miles of beaver ponds that used to be the river, and some are quite a distance from the current river. Anyone got an idea how long ago those changes took place?
