Does anyone use a Heater Body Suit? I'm considering getting one. I have vascular issues that make it hard to keep my body temp up in the woods - my lower body, especially. I've tried just about everything...layered thin socks, thick socks, wool, cotton, different boots - changing when I get in my stand but usually after about 3 hours I can no longer feel my lower legs and feet and I get uncontrollable shivers. This is with multiple layers including wool and coveralls that I put on once I climb up.
I'm just wondering if it's worth the big price tag or if I should try to rig up a sleeping bag in a similar fashion. But as cold as I get in the stand in spite of everything I've tried, I'd be willing to pay that much to stay warm for a change...IF it works.

Im interested in knowing about that too! My 15 year old daughter always gets cold hunting in Jackson county. I thought about buying here a Heater Body Suit. Its seams to be harder to find young girls and womens hunting gear= unless you order it online. Academy in gadsden has VERY little in the way of ladies hunting clothing. Totally agree! BassPro has a decent selection in their stores, but it can get ridiculous just how much you're gonna pay for items marketed for women. Most of my gear is men's clothing - but I'm 5'11" with long arms and legs and that works out well. But for an average sized female that's not going to be comfortable.

Tambo, my boss and co-workers live in Wisconsin. I asked them about the HBS last year when it was so cold up there.
Boss said he bow hunts in January with the HBS and it's invaluable. They're an advertiser with us but he said he's used them for years. I've talked with other hunters up north who have used them and they say the same.
I have one now in prep for two hunts this autumn. I'm going to combine it with my regular clothing that includes a turtleneck Under Armour base shirt, a fleece neck gaiter and then a wool toque. Once zipped up to my neck gaiter it should keep everything toasty inside.
Just my two cents about the HBS.
Also, hate to hear about your vascular issues. That sounds horrible.

why couldnt you just buy a camo sleeping bag and add should straps? You could probably do that for less than a $100 vs the $350 heater body suit That's what I was wondering about..if a sleeping bag modified like a HBS would get the job done. Thought I'd talk to my mother in law to see if she could work her magic on one since I failed Home Ec. in high school because I didn't want to learn how to use a sewing machine. Thanks everyone for the great feedback. Sounds like they are worth the money. I know last year on opening day, I sat in the stand until lunch with the wind howling & wasn't sure my legs would work to climb back down. Took my boots off & my toes were blue! And I didn't even see a deer that day. LOL

Since it's supposed to be a cold winter this year, I would be interested to hear more about it too.

I would have given $500 for one a couple mornings in Jackson County last year, but right now $350 seems outrageous.

You may want to look at Arctic Shield before dropping $350+ on a sleeping bag on steroids. By far the lightest, warmest stuff I own.
