Yeah we do! Biggest problem is, the main deck of the rig is almost 60 feet off the water. That makes for a couple problems...first, it cuts your casting distance WAY down. It always seems you can see those big Yellowfin working just outside of casting range! Second, it's a long way down to lower a gaff and still try to work it under the fish. And third, some of those tuna are HUGE, and if you use tackle that's designed to handle them, it cuts down your casting range even more, when you use lighter tackle, the big ones really beat it up bad. I've brought home one Yellowfin that weighed 81 lbs. dressed...but most of the big ones I'm able to land are in the 30-50 lb. range. We also get some nice dolphin at times, and the occasional shark. No snapper, grouper, or any of the stuff they catch on jack-up rigs...we're in 5340 feet of water right now, so even if you could reach bottom, there's not much there!
