You'd get a lot more "Forgiveness" from the people if you would just forget about that phrase. In the end, You'll get your forgiveness when people start feeling bad for you, But Most people will not forget about it. But to help your cause, Admit total guilt, not this "It was actually O.k Because it wasn't against the tourney rules" stuff

This...and the didn't know it was against the law crap!

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

This doesn't have to ruin your's or your families life. Start over and take the opportunity to be the Father and friend that your family and friends would be proud of. Redemption is always possible with God and he can restore all that is lost if you lean on Him.

Good step in the right direction. Make sure you forgive yourself and put it behind you. Bass fishing is a big time ego thing for most and I can see where a feller could be tempted. Now pm any crappie info you got.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

For we have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.

I would bet that there are several on here that have cheated on their wife or husband and to me that is a lot worse than some dang fishing tournament.

So you thought that catching bass before a tourney, putting them in a holding tank tied to a dock and then collecting them during the tourney to weigh in was okay?

C'mon man.

Forgiveness starts with the truth.

I've fished a lot of tourneys, but never one that only paid $24 to the winner.

When you pray, make a complete confession, not some clouded excuse. Because if anyone knows the whole story, you can bet that $24 that God does.

To start with God has forgiven you, most guys you fished against will never forget what you did. I don't know you but hope there was a reason better than your ego that persuaded you to cheat.
You obviously have guts to apologize, but as others have said it sounds to me like you have not convinced your self that what you did was wrong and it seems like you are trying to justify it based on what little was gained by your actions. I can't imagine what your family has gone through but I imagine that has a lot to do with why you have posted this message.

Prayers for wisdom and strength for you and your family!

I have never fished against you so you don't owe me an apology. I do think it is a step in the right direction to ask for forgiveness and a stand up thing to do. Give your life to the Lord and you will experience true forgiveness.

You don't owe me no apologies but I'm with Trox on this. That's kinda like keeping extra buck tags and killing more than three bucks a season and cheating the system to me.
