Haha! I grew up there. One red light and one little Burger joint called DJ's. Its behind the old grocery store. Columbiana is only about 10 min away. There's Beverly's BBQ, Pawpaws Diner, Bernie's on Main. Also a Jacks, McD, and a Mexican joint. Bernie's is the best of your options, they have a meat and 2-3 for lunch or you can order off the menu lunch and dinner. Pawpaws has the best breakfast.
As far as entertainment......none. There is a dirt track in wilsonville, but I'm not sure there schedule if that's your cup of tea.
There are no rainy days...

You could drive to Sylacauga. LaCosta is great if you like Mexican. There is a new Sushi/Chinese place that isn't half bad. JRs is very good.

One of my favorite restaurants is Ragtime Cafe in Hoover, maybe 25 min away. Fantastic lunches for $8-$12, and steak / seafood dinner for $17-$25.
If you've never had a Milos burger and tea, there's one in Calera by the Walmart.
If you like Italian food, Joes Italian in Alabaster is good. Mobilians didn't like Milos for some reason. I thought they would have made a fortune, but Mobile and Foley locations went out of business. I think you either had to be born and raised in Bham or have gone to school up there to appreciate the greatness that is Milo's....

As mentioned, your best bet is to head West on 280 into Graystone / Oak Mountain area. Plenty of good eating off of 280. This is my hood so let me know if you are looking for something particular.

If you like "Chain" restaurants, we have a new Applebees in Chelsea. It is west on 280 a few miles from Harpersville. We also have a Johnny Ray's BBQ. It is real good bbq....
