I put out 50# of it mixed with a bag of corn this weekend to see if they would eat it. Any of ya'll using it for feeding?

I was told its 14% protein. Corn around 5% protein. Talked to a midwest guy a while back who puts out DDG , or dry distilled grains which is supposed to be 24% protein.
Local feed store has never heard of it when I called to price... rice bran is $9 a bag.

They love it. I've fed it for several years now. When it gets wet a crust will set on top of it. They paw it up and keep eating.

It will be gone soon. I usually dump a line of corn on the ground about 4 yds long directly in front of my camera and top dress it with rice bran. deer love it.

Rice bran is the main ingredient in C'mere Deer. They just add some vanilla bean to it along with a couple of other ingredients and charge 10 times what a bag of rice bran cost. A friend of mine in Missouri supplies C'mere deer with all their vanilla beans.

I think as long as you keep it dry it works best. I know the club I was a member of in the mississippi delta would put it on the ground but that was for baiting hogs. The guys up there would put it in covered feeders for deer.

Why not use sunshine dog food, it's mostly corn, and is 21% protein?

We use cheap stinky dog food for hogs but never seen a deer touch it.

We put out 10 corn feeders a month ago and they are basically going untouched by deer. Figured id try the rice bran and try to get em in front of the cameras.
I was told to sweeten up the rice bran with some sweet feed, or some powdered molasses

I know a guy that used to feed his pet deer, dry sunshine dog food.Don't get the high dollar stuff, with meat in it, stick with the cheap kind that has corn as its main ingredient.

I've used rice bran. While they eat it, nothing beats the original Buck Grub

On the dog food note, while I have never fed them dog food, I have put out sweet feed, cattle 13% pellets (like to go in a creep feeder), and range cubes. They ate all of it without a hitch

Rice bran is like crack to a junkie. Deer love it. I usually put it in a covered trough to keep it dry. Like muzzie said above, it's the main ingredient in Cmere Deer. When people realized they could get 2 50lb sacks for what 3 lb bucket of Cmere deer cost they changed the ingredient listing on the bucket to read grain by product. It has a high content of crude protein and fats for growing big horns and healthy deer.
