I am on stand this morning and seen a few deer which is always good but I just had a young doe walk by with her tongue hanging out. She is young so she got a pass but I never seen a deer walk around with their tongue out.

It was pink/red color hanging out the side of its mouth. Never seen something like that before.

Only time I've seen a doe with her tongue out was after she swam across the river and then ran about 2,000 yards across open cotton fields. She was puckered out by the time she got to the woods.

I have seen several that had their tounge hang out all the time. According to the AL dcnr biologist i emailed the pictures to it is just a condition they get that isn't a big deal.

I watched one in tx las year about work his self to death eating corn off the ground, i felt bad for him having to lick the dirt with every bite. Made me thirsty just watching him.
