Good luck y'all. I'm set up on the ground. It's actually a better evening spot but I thought I would give it a go this morning. I have seen a lot of deer on the ground here inside of 50 yards. How y'all like that homemade T shirt sleeve neck gaiter. smile I'm in full camo for once, hope it pays off. And yes I'm wearing my HSS on the ground smile it has all my stuff in it.

It's great to be back in a tree even if I did sleep late and couldn't make it to my planned spot.

I'm nestled on a hard wood ridge. Missed a doe yesterday evening and hope to even the score this morning. Yesterday was my first miss in quiet a whole but I guess if I hunt long enough it won't be my last!

Buddy of mine is hunting hardwoods this morning on the same property as me. Well we showed up this morning and the gate leading to his section was closed (the gates are never closed) and come to find out, the farmer decided to move his cows to this tract of land yesterday. So far my buddy has seen 35 angus heifers, 10 calves, and a shooter angus bull rofl

On a hardwood ridge halfway between a cutover and a creek in Pickens County. Already had a lone deer that weighed about 85# feed by me within range. It being a lone deer that size I wasn't 100% sure it was a doe.

Daniel, you need to cover the rest of that ugly mug up. Yeah Come On!!! grin

I'm playing on here with y'all and hear something to my left and this bobcat walks by at ten yards. He saw me trying to get ready and turned to walk off. His mistake was not running. [img:center]http://[/img]
Well I do my happy move and turn and look and this spike is standing in the field at 100 yds looking my way trying to figure out what happened. He finally calmed down and fed around at about 60 yds before walking off. [img:center]http://[/img]

Congrats on the bobcat thumbup

I'm back in the white oaks again...I spooked two deer before daylight, but they came back up toward me at 7:00. I could hear them in the thicket about 40 yds away, but never could see them...3 longbeards have set up shop near me now.

Good luck, everyone!

Sitting here in a climber I set Sunday on my place in Pickens county. All different kind of oaks raining here. However. I'm second guessing myself. We planted fields last week, and the deer have been hitting the sprouts hard.

Back at it this am, hope it happens. My dad, nephew and a buddy all came down last night, so surely one of us will get a shot this am. Good luck to all those hunting today. I'm back on the hardwood ridge with a creek to my left and thinned pines to my right.

I'm sitting on the edge of a bottle neck in a hardwood bottom. Acorns raining, a perfect breeze but no deer. If nothing else, I get to enjoy this gorgeous morning!

Congrats to those who connected! thumbup

I saw a spotted fawn at 10:35, but never did see it's momma. She had to be close by with the way the fawn acted, I just couldn't see her. That was the only action for me this morning.

I found a decent, old 8 pt shed on my way back to the truck

Had a big doe and a Boone and Crockett 3 point walk through the clear cut this morning. They wouldn't get any closer than 90 yards though. Was fun to watch them for the half hour or so they were in site.

Buddy had a doe and fawn around him all morning, just out of range.

I'm back in the same stand as this morning. There's too much sign and too many acorns falling for me not to be back in here.

Headed out out to hunt this afternoon and the farmer was starting to cut the beans close to my stand. No where for me to park without getting in his way so I guess I'll have to wait for another day. Good luck to all!

Just got settled on the Summit. Got some acorns raining down. Haven't been here since last Feb. in rabbit season. Let the record show. Just cause it's easy walking in Feb. doesn't mean it is in Oct. My legs are cut up sure enough. laugh

In a smz about 60 yds from a field lots of tracks crossing this creek. The only trees that are dropping over here are water oaks.

It got so warm I was sweating, so I gave up for today. Only saw one doe, though she was very mature, but too far to attempt a shot. Nothing else moving. Try again another day.
Here was my setup this morning.

First hunt of the year sitting on a food plot. My brother in law had a good buck in this field opening day. We will see what happens.

Didn't see a deer this morning but ran into town to pick up some steaks for the grill tonight and there was a doe and fawn feeding in a small field behind Jack's. Haven't seen anything so far this evening.

Well I hate to say it but me and my brother in law exhausted every effort to find the doe I shot. I felt very confident in the shot. She was barley quartered to me at 20 yards. Entry looked like maybe 2 inches behind the shoulder and exit was between 5-8 inches behind the shoulder. Arrow was covered in blood and had no gut smell to it. Looked like lung Blood. Well bout 2 min after I shot her 2 coyote came from behind me and went in right where I saw the doe leave the field. I don't know if they messed me up finding her or not. We found very little blood but then the blood got better. Tracked blood for about 100 yards and it just stopped. I'm pretty sick.
