Is it legal to carry a firearm with you while bowhunting for shooting coyotes/bobcats/snakes etc?

It is prohibited to have a firearm unless a pistol for protection.
"Possess both gun and bow while hunting any species of game bird or animal except during open unantlered gun deer season, except handguns may be possessed for personal protection by properly licensed persons."

It is always legal unless you get caught.

I wouldn't carry any firearm that a game warden might consider a "hunting" type weapon. I typically carry a 38sp revolver during bow season with SJHP rounds (personal protection rounds) or standard FMJ ammo. When guns are legal I may carry my 6" Ruger Blackhawk with deer slaying ammo. I would probably write me a ticket for carrying the Blackhawk during bow season if I had hunting ammo in it.
