Man thats a tuff one. Had a time in my life where laws didn't matter. I thought I could do what I want when I wanted. Got so bad where one of the jailers knew me by name. I finally woke up to reality but cost me alot of years trying to rebuild the stupid kid I was. I don't think I'd change it. I'm 10x the person I was and a hell of alot more responsible. So no I believe I'd go back and get that same smack in the face again.

Very tough question. I've made so many mistakes through the years like not finishing college, women, trusting people in general...not sure I can pick just one. Life full of regrets. I want a do-over!

MY BIGGEST MISTAKE WAS NOT SPENDING MORE TIME TALKING WITH AND HANGING WITH MY SISTER. SHE PASSED AWAY MARCH 19, 2013. I WAS AT WORK THAT NIGHT AND TOOK THE 9-1-1 CALL FROM MY MOTHER WHO WAS CALLED TO HER HOUSE BY HER "HUSBAND" MOM TOLD ME SHE WASNT BREATHING AND TO GET SOMEONE THERE. I DISPATCHED THE CALL AND THEN I LEFT WORK .. WHEN I GOT THE ER. IT WAS TO LATE. STAYED ON LIFE SUPPORT FOR 3 DAYS THEN WE HAD TO MAKE THE DECISION TO TAKE HER OFF AND EXPLAIN TO HER 3 KIDS, NOW 13 12 AND 10 THAT THEIR MOTHER WAS NO LONGER HERE

Biggest mistake was not telling my Mom how sorry I was not to fully understand everything that she was going through with her kidney disease, until I went through it myself. I loved her dearly and she passed away totally unexpectedly. To this day I regret not talking with her about how much I loved her and respected her for raising me and keeping me straight with her prayers.
When I was recovering from my transplant I had a lady that I had know from church as a kid come by to visit me in the hospital. She made the comment to me and my wife that "You know this has all been an answered prayer don't you?" Asked her what she meant and she said that over 20 years ago she had spent some time with my Mom at a Bible study. During that time my Mom prayed that if Mark (me) ever came to the point in my life that I suffered with kidney disease that the Lord would bless me through the process and prepare someone to be a donor for me if it ever came to that. She said that when she found out that it had happened that she felt led to tell us. I was pretty emotional after that revelation to say the least.
Your takeaway from this:
Always spend time with your Mother/Father. You never know when you will not have them anymore.
God answers prayer. He does not make mistakes.

I have a couple myself one I won't post on here. Another one was Shooting Tournaments. By the age of 12 I had 2 triple crowns wins 300 First place Trophies in cubs, youth and men Class. Had gotten a call to try out for a program for the Olympics that they were thinking about starting the next year in the early 90's. Well My mom left us that same year and I developed Target panic. Went down to a Florida invitational and Shot the worst I had ever shot still finished in Top 10 but my confidence fell out completely and I stopped shooting Tournaments that same year. Felt like I disappointed my dad with that one. He never showed it and he always told me he was proud of me but I know he would have liked to seen his son succeed to the top just like any father would.

Wish I would have went to the doctor like everyone told me to do and get that spot checked out on my back. I was bull headed and left it on there for almost 2 years and come to find out it was melanoma cancer. I wouldn't have had to take all those treatments and have all those surgeries and I wouldn't have cancer now. You take what life gives you and you can't look back. If only I could do it over again,, but you can't change the past.

Not taking school seriously early on. I almost flunked out of 9th grade. I was too wrapped up in being the funny guy in class and trying to impress everyone. I didn't know how important that year was for the foundation of my high school grades. I got the wake-up call and even though I killed it 10-12th grades, my overall GPA wasn't good enough for any scholarships for college and I didn't get to go where I wanted which was UA. So yeah, I'd like a do-over in 9th grade.
I'd rethink some financial stuff like starting earlier on saving for retirement.
I would have visited my grandparents in the nursing home more often. I drove by it every day but was always too busy with school, or a party, or hunting, or something else that could have waited. When they called that early April morning to say my GF had died, it hit me. And hard.
But funny how life works. I ended up living at home and going to AUM for college. I did well and went on to UAB. I doubt I'd have the career I have now had I gone to Alabama at that age!

My little brother called me three days before his death in an automobile accicdent, and I cut the phone call short to go and drink beer and shoot pool. It took this event for me to evaulate my life and what I was doing with it, it started my new walk with Christ, and while I still fall short in the eyes of God, I turned my life around, got married, and now have three children. If I had it to do over again I would have spoke longer, I would have been a better big brother, I would have began that walk with Christ earlier. The advice I offer is this, tell those around them that you love them, because I learned the hard way you are not promised tomorrow, I can say that I don't ever remember telling him that, but because of my faith, I KNOW that one day I will tell him to his face, that I love him.
