I have never read any of tom kellys books so I started searching on the internet for a copy of tenth legion. Most of the 1st editions listed in good condition are $50 or more and new condition are $100 or more. I had no idea!

Check books a million and Barnes and Noble. That's where I got my copy of the Tenth Legion.

South wood... U will love all his books... I actually have a 1st edition copy of the Tenth Legion I found in late 80's at an estate sale... Only 500 were printed and last appraisal it was worth a fortune...I surely did not realize I had blind hog luck on that day... That will be kept in a safe for the kids one day for sure

Thanks bustinbeards, I did go to his website but I really wanted a first edition. I finally found one for a reasonable price and bought it. I'm looking forward to reading it!

Question... Where could I pick up one of his books today? I'm gonna have some free time Thursday-Sunday and I'd like to read one.

You're more than welcome to borrow mine if you're gonna be around Huntsville to pick it up.

Thanks Jug, but I'm headed in the opposite direction. I was hoping I could buy a copy somewhere. I checked Books-A-Million in Gadsden yesterday and The Tenth Legion wasn't even in their system.

Here's my Tom Kelly collection. I bought the four volume set from the Colonel himself in Nashville last year at the NWTF convention. He is my favorite outdoor writer and no one else is even close. His writing touches on just about every topic an outdoorsman in Alabama might be interested in; from turkey hunting and duck hunting to forestry practices and history. Be warned, however, the Colonel is not enamored with deer hunting.
