Back in 1914 ...
The Monroe Journal Vol. 47, #37, 9/17/1914. Front page news. Big Gator Killed...Menace for Years Killed by Hunters. The largest alligator in west Florida, and the most destructive one, has been killed in a lake near Red Bay in Washington County. To reach the pint, it was necessary to go from Pensacola by boat up the Choctawhatchie bay and then travel overland for 18 miles.........Its end was brought about by Levi Miller and Tom Ward.......the alligator measured 19 feet in length and 6 feet at the shoulders...a $200 reward was posted after a mare, two grown cattle, numerous goats, and samll livestock went missing

I believe La is 19 foot record.
so why can't a 19 footer come from Fl/Al line area????
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

If you want to see a grown one, go fish Eufala. There are some big ones expecially on the Georgia side or at least that was the biggest I saw.

16 footers aren't uncommon in Lake Eufaula.

Six feed wide at the shoulders, eh? Isn't that a girth measurement? They said wide not girth
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

16 footers aren't uncommon in Lake Eufaula. Yep. And the one in the Witch's Ditch is probably 25, 27 feet by now. Grows a foot or two every year or so, at least. How? Dunno, but "they" swear it's that big. They seen it.
