Was doing some scouting Saturday. This property is next to a cut corn field and the area I was in is a travel corridor from bedding to a greenfield. It's about 300 yds long and 75 yds wide. There's a deer trail that runs all the way through the bedding area from the corn field and its strewn with corn cobbs over the entire length. Could these be dropped by deer or would you think it was more like a raccoon or something?

Raccoons, I've seen them tote corn on the cob up a tree and place them on limbs. Couldn't figure rout why there was corn up a tree next to where I'd climbed. Finally had a coon with a cob in his mouth, and up the tree he went.

I climbed down not sure how that worked in regards to bait. crazy

Both, I've seen our deer chewing on corn cobs 100 yards from the closest field. You'll be surprised how far they'll carry something they are chewing on. I don't think you can contribute many to deer though.

Initially I thought it was probably deer but the more I think about it the more I agree with you guys, that it's more than likely raccoons. I was really surprised to see all those corn cobbs so far from the field.

I would lean to the majority being carried by raccoons.

You're being set up by the deer to get a hunting over bait citation.
