LOOKING AT GETTING A NEW RELEASE THIS YEAR. LOOKING IN TO THE HOOK STYLE INSTEAD OF THE DOUBLE CALIPER. PROS/CONS.. WHAT SAY YE?

I prefer a single jaw type like a Scott Little Goose or Wildcat.

I just bought the Scott silver horn which is a hook but my release is on a nylon strap instead of a bar and when I shoot, the release falls out of my hand and sometimes the hook re engages itself and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't, you have to grab the head of the release in your hand and push the hook back in with your index finger before you can hook your loop again. I don't really like it but I would like it if it was on a bar instead of a nylon strap, but then again I got the strap release so I could tuck it in my sleeve and not bang it against my rangefinder and climber while setting it up. I am really thinking about going to a thumb style release so I can just leave it on my loop and pick my bow up when a deer comes by.

Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

Tru Fire Hardcore is pretty nice. I like mine and it has the flip back option where you can flip it back and tuck under your sleeve when your climbing or getting set up.

I went and shot several including scott andleft with a trufire edge fold back. It was smoother to me than any of the others. The fold back is awesome shooting in the yard when you need to make am adjustment, grab a drink, pull arrows, etc... I can already see how helpful it will be while hunting.

I just retired my cobra last month after 12 years. It has been and still is a good release but the Velcro strap is falling apart.

I still have the First Release I got back in 90 It is a scott and that thing is still as good as it was back then. Won a ton of Tournaments with that old release. Shoot a true fire now but its about 10-12 years old I think.

I've been shooting the same Scott Little Goose since 2004. Course mine is a double caliper, but that doesn't really matter. Hard to beat a Scott.
