Most deer I've gotten in one picture came off a persimmon tree that was loaded and dropping. I had never seen any around it and was trying to prove myself right that deer hardly ever eat them. I now have flagging tape on everyone on my place.
Some do, some don't....what's it gonna be?

I have a persimmon tree on my property in VA. The deer lay under it waiting. The bear come to it everyday. There is a trail worn around the tree every year. After the first frost, they really sweeten up and fall. I've seen as many as 3 bear underneath it at once. SoYES.
"Now boy, are you sure you can skin griz?"

Killed 7 deer in the first 6 days of bow season while in college on one persimmon tree. They also present several shot opportunities through the years at yotes and fox.

I've always heard how deer love persimmons, so I was thrilled when we had two persimmon trees in the middle of our deer lease. In the 7 years we hunted it, I never saw evidence of deer eating them. They all fell on the ground and then rotted. I never saw any droppings under the tree or tracks. They were beside a food plot that deer frequented regularly, and we were loaded with deer. I was really disappointed.

Found one the other day growing right next to a shooting house. I meant the fruit (still green but changing) was touching the shooting house. I've never personally seen a deer eat the fruit but I've seen the tracks under the tree and the remnants of the fruit so I know they tear it up.
