Anyone have one of the PT 740 or 709 slim pistols? Thinking about getting one...thoughs appreciated. I am looking for a cheaper cc for the weekends. One more in line with shorts and a t shirt.

My B in Law has one. He likes it. I don't like a manual safety on a cc gun. .02

I bought a Taurus 809 9MM about a year and a half ago. Paid a little over $360. It fit my hand and felt better than the Glock and a S&W in 9MM i was looking at. Local gun broker at pawn shop said Taurus was a good gun and buy. Had a life time warranty to boot.

I dont mind the manual safety, microseconds to hit it while drawing. But, looking for ideas since i have started wearing shorts more. I typically carry a .38 revolver in an ankle holster. Any thought on a slim pistol around 300 bucks?

I carry a 380 bodyguard. It fits nice in a loose pocket/ back pocket. I got a steal of a deal on mine though, but I think they sell new around 400.

I tote a DB9. It's the smallest, slimmest 9x19 that I know of. Super light weight too. If you have a limp grip, its not for you though.

Good point. Grip is an issue with all small frame semi-autos. Just need to shoot some before you trust your life to it. thumbup

I had a 709 slim. Was a good gun but I didn't like the trigger that much.

Did you get another to replace it that you did?

Them Zimmerman 9's are cheap and small. Pretty deadly too.kel tec. I got a S&W sd 40. That was fairly cheap. I carry it in shorts waistband with no holster. I forget its there sometimes.

One of my buddy's wife carries a taurus 9. No problems with the gin itself but had magazine issues. Taurus sent out a new one to make it right. He has a lc9. That one is thin and small and he loves if. I personally just don't like the trigger on fiteither one of them. G26 might be a little fat for some folks but for myself it's my cup of tea. I also like the fact that i can throw in g17 mags for backup or range use. Wished glock would come out with a 357 sig chambering pocket carry single stack the size of the bodyguard or lc9. I think it would be a hot(literally)seller. Not for the faint of heart

If you have a 38, I assume a J frame, I sure as heck wouldn't be buying a small auto.

Look at the new Gen 2 taurus pistols. The trigger is as good or better than a glock and so far has been reliable. Don't get an older gen 1.

I am pretty fond of my kel tec pf9 , I would rather carry it than any Taurus semi auto I have ever owned. I do like Taurus revolvers.
