I've been planning to buy some new rubber hunting boots for the upcoming season. I'd been looking at Muck Arctic Pro's... at least until they went PETA on everyone. I might still consider then regardless.
So here's a question - when you buy insulted rubber hunting boots, do you buy a size larger to allow for thick socks, etc. or do they normally true to size? And if you don't like Muck anymore, who do you recommend? My requirements are 18" rubber boots, insulated, and got a good warranty.

I always wear Lacrosse rubber boots. Always try any boot on before you buy.

Luckily I already own 3 pair of Mucks and I'm gonna keep wearing them until they don't work anymore...mine are the same size as my tennis shoes. I wear a thin liner sock for the walk into the stand, then take that off and put on a good merino wool sock for the sit.

I've been wearing the Under Armour HAW 800 gram boots the past several years.... Wouldn't trade em for any boot I've had in the past.... I used to be a Lacrosse fan but the last pair of Alpha Burly's I had wore a hole around the ankle from normal wear within a year....

I used to be a Lacrosse fan but the last pair of Alpha Burly's I had wore a hole around the ankle from normal wear within a year.... Have not tried on the Under Armour boots, but did pick up a pair, and run my hand down in them, and they felt really rough around the ankles, kind of like they may rub your ankles raw. No issues for you?

No issues for you? None buddy... I love them.... This will be my third year in them.... I love the flexibility of the neoprene and waterproof up close to the knee.... Most comfortable walking boot I've worn in the woods.... If they weren't so dang hot.... I'd wear em all of turkey season.....

I'm planning on some lacrosse aeroheads this year if I can. Read some great things on em I wear rubber boots every day in the rice fields. I usually go through a pair a year. I bought a pair of the aeroheads this spring and they are still goin strong. Very comfortable boot, little heavy but comfortable.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.
