Harrumph harrumph harrumph! You kids get offa my lawn! So as to not hijack the other "Kids driving big trucks" thread and give this one a life of its own ... What was your first vehicle? Car or truck, beater or new, doesn't matter. Let's hear it. Mine was a junebug green 1973 Chevy Impala 4-door with a trunk big enough for a Mafia hit man to hide several bodies. Loved it. I got it in 1982 and it was my grandmother's and, literally, she drove it about two miles a day from her home to our store or the church. I think it had about 10,000 or 11,000 miles on it and was in pristine condition. My second one was my cousin's 1979 Firebird (I got hand-me-downs, which was fine). I drove it like I had robbed a bank with underage chicks beside me and a pile of coke in the back seat with cops, CIA, FBI, DEA and someone's mad daddy on my tail. Then I got married and have driven more sedate adult cars ever since.

'65 F-250 4x4
It was passed down to me in '95 and was my dad's first truck as well back in '73.
(Currently sitting parked in the garden awaiting it's next revival.)

73 Plymouth Duster. It was baby blue with a long white strip down the side. Rocker panels and some of the floor board were rusted out. Inside smelled liked what I imagine Troy smells like after he lathers down with Ben Gay and dabs a little High Karate on. I saved for 2 summers to get that car...$700 bucks. Drove it with my head held high like I was a rich snob in a Bentley.

1970 chevy cst/10 long wheel base. Bright green with white top. 350, V8, factory air. Cost was $1500 in 1996. It was the best deal I'll probably ever get on a vehicle. It was a one owner. I put a tree in the dead center of it. Took me 10 years to live it down.

First car that was mine I obtained when I was 17 years old in '94, a ''81 toyota 2wd long wheel base pick up with no a/c and no power steering. I did have a motorcycle from 15-17 that I was able to get 4 tickets before I turned 16 on. I'm lucky to be here for sure.

1980 Honda Civic. 5 speed and front wheel drive. Hauled my first 5 deer out of the woods in that car. Lifted the hatch back, laid down the back seat, moved the speaker box, loaded em up! That car would go through things my 4wd wouldn't make it through.

I had a '78 Jeep Honcho. It had full-time/auto 4wd and a gas guzzling engine that would pass everything on the road except a gas station. It had an exhaust leak and you could hear me coming from a mile away! I wish I had that old truck back.

1967 Mercury Montclair, white, like that really mattered. Taking off from a stop was like shooting the juice to a bulldozer. On the top end though look out, that is if you could handle the floating, you would have thought that thing was about to take flight.

First ever was a 1960 Chevy Apache Stepside. 235 6 cyl and 3 on the tree. Sold that and went to Tennessee to stay with my brother one summer. After bus fare there and some party money I used the rest to buy a fire engine red 1966 AMC Rambler 4 door with a 265 6 cly 3 speed auto. That son gun weighed as much as a small APC !! Sold that after a month and bought a Harley Davidson Fat Boy. Drove that thing around the rest of the summer...well actually I drove it a mile or so, stopped and fixed it and then off for another mile or so...etc Sold that to a PFC on Ft Campbell and moved back home after summer and bought a 1970 GMC Stepside 4x4 with 3" Lift and 14.50s Monster Mudders. Jet Black. Drove that thru high school and for the first year after until I got a job working offshore La Oil. Them big old Monster Mudders would beat the eyeteeth outta your head at highway speeds and I just couldn't stand the noise for that 4 hour drive to Morgan City.
Hunt'em hard when they are hard to hunt but never, ever hardly hunt!

I was 15 and it was a brand new at the time Honda 250 Nighthawk, just like this one: I still to this day dont know how my dad pulled that one off with my mom and her 15YO son. I drove it to school and work and I paid the notes and insurance. It was sold when I was almost 17 for my first vehicle, an 87' Suzuki Samurai hardtop. Loved that little truck and spent almost every weekend at the West End of Dauphin Island fishing.

In 1988 I inherited my Dads old mine truck. 1972 Ford Courier. Floor boards and the bed was rusted out and no matter what you did to fix it you had to pump the brakes to stop. I loved that P.O.S. all I saw in it was my ticket to freedom.

A baby blue 1972 Chevy LUV truck.
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

1988 Chevy S-10 Blazer...red with grey on the bottom...4.3L V6...my mom bought a brand new ford thunderbird about 4 months before I turned 16 and the blazer was her ride before that...they kept it for me and gave it to me with the understanding that it would be washed and kept as clean as my dad kept it, and I kept my grades up...very nice ride for a 16 year old I thought
I once flirted with danger...but then danger got clingy.

1986 Mazda 626 that was handed down from my mom. It was a 4 door. Even though it wasn't a hot rod, girls didn't seem to care to much. I had lots of fun in that car. Kept it for 2yrs and dad bought me a 93 Nissan 4x4 regular cab.

My Dad was a car dealer and had his carlot on hwy 431 north of Anniston, so I had the chance to drive hundreds of different cars over my teenage years. I turned 16 in 1981 and the big trend was to have a Camara, Firebird, or anything 4WD. I wanted something a little different. Hey, my dad was a dealer so it was normal for me to trade a lot of them. The first vehicle I ever bought for myself (to keep) was a 68 Mustang. It had a couple of unusual features like a bench seat. That was cool to me and great for having my sweetheart of the month in the car with me.(no serious girlfriends back then) It also had a pedal in the floorboard next to the dimmer switch that would make the wipers cycle one time. I guess it was the predecessor to intermittent wipers. It had a 289 and the five hole rims. I bought it for $800.00 and then spent about $1500.00 more putting in new carpet, windshield, tires, wheels, paint, air shocks, traction bars, cam, carbeurator, intake, and a few other things. It was really sharp when I got done with it, and not real slow either. LOL

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

1962 Chevrolet Impala. Cost me $500. It was a great car and I could get about 8 or 10 more people in the thing.
