As long as the ends of the tines and beam are somewhat "bulbous" and shiny, they are still growing. Watch your bucks in velvet pictures closely. Once the growth stops, the ends of the tines and beam will lose their shine and will look more narrow and pointed underneath the velvet. It typically takes about a month after the growth has stopped for the antler to harden before they shed the velvet.
It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

I am seeing lots of bucks right now while doing the night hog hunts. They seem to be finished growing. I saw 7 last night. Have seen a few really nice bucks so far this summer.
