I don't have any input on that area or guides but if you haven't bow fished at night and can squeeze a guided trip in I would suggest trying it.

Call 850-862-9722 and ask Holly, they run 3 bay charter boats in Destin and if they don't do the night fishing part they know about everybody in the area running inshore charters.

I've never heard of anybody doing that down here but that doesn't mean they don't.

We bowfished perdido bay. Not sure if I spelled that right. Anyways shot a boat load of sting rays anywhere from 5 to 40lbs. Was a lot of fun.

Was down in OB last month and they shot each night near the beach when the wind wasn't up. Through the binos I could see them do LOTS of shooting. Lot of rays best I could tell. When they got a hit they would pull it in on the gulf side of the boat. Looked fun for sure.

Sounds like a lot of fun...I've never been bowfishing and this sounds like a great way to get started...everything I'm finding on the net says daytime only in destin...

Wear gloves them rays have little spines that run along their back. Also a machete is a great tool to chop off the tails.

We fished out of OB a few years ago with Fish Kabob Bowfishing. Had a bad experience with him and wouldn't recommend using him. But I had a blast shooting rays.

There are some guys down here that run bow fishing charters, some legit some not at all. If you are sticking stingrays and you don't clean and eat them then...........

Like I said some of those guys dump a load of stingrays after their trips. Pathetic!

I run inshore charters here but no bow fishing trips. I'd name some names but I'm not gonna get into all that drama. Ask if the captain will clean your catch, stingrays and all, at the end of your trip. If he says no, you should say no. I've seen hundreds of stingrays dumped in dumpsters. Just a waste, and not the way I was raised to treat our resources.

I believe they get the meat off the wings.

Eat the wings. Taste just like scallops, or cutt them up and go out and chum for sharks.
