We have been no tilling rye for 3 years now, after it sprouts we top seed with ladino, crimson and arrow leaf. I just poison, spread seed and fert, then lightly disc. I leave a few every year that don't get seed and they still come up from what is left in the seed bank.

I wouldn't plant just one seed type, a mix is always better. Go with a cereal rye/crimson clover or yucchi/radish mix. Make your own. Have you done a soil sample? If not, you should. Whats your soil ph? Soil sample should be back from the lab shortly. Limed it real good two years ago but we haven't sampled the soil in over 5 years so It'll be interesting to compare the two. I intended to mix clover, rye and turnips but just wanted to get some opinions from others. The commercial mixes we've used in the past have always been a bust.
