I shot the 2010 hoyt maxxis 35 through conograph , I am by no means a speed freak but I was excepting better , it's 31 inch draw , shot it at 65 and 70 lb draw , nothing on string but d loop , rip cord drop away , shot a easton aftermath 300 10.7 gpi at 29.5 inches with 100 grain tip at 70 lbs it went 270 fps . Shot a easton axis 340 9.5 gpi at 28 ( I know it's under spined and too short but actually groups as good as the 300's ) it went 290fps at 70 lb . The reason I say it's slow is because my buddy's 2009 alphy max at 29 inch draw and 66/67 pound draw shoots a easton axis at 290 fps , . I thought with 2 more inches of draw I should have been around 300fps easy maybe even a little over .

Those are some heavy arrows. Remember IBO speeds are measured at 5.0 grains per pound of draw weight at 30" draw (i.e.- 70# draw with 350 grain total weight arrow)
Typically lose 10fps for every inch the draw is shortened and lose 10fps for every 30 grains of additional weight.
You're only as good as your worst shot-

I am at 31 inch draw , can't understand why the maxxis is slower than my buddy's given the specs ? Either way it's still plenty fast enough but I had a cheap pse that shot 280 at 30 inch draw and 60lb limbs with a 340 easton arrow
