Mostly 1/8th ounce, although I've used everything from lighter up to 5/8ths for big worms, which really isn't finesse but rather just an upsized tactic.

Depends on the lake and how picky the fish are, Im not really a finesse fisher, but dont mind slow fishing. I usually throw a 1/4, but if i got a wind up to 10mph ill use a 3/8, and a 1/2 if the wind is really howling. Shaky Head is a fish Killer! Love to throw it march-early June. Havnt had much luck on it lately so Been throwing jigs

1/4 oz in all shakey head variations. I also exclusively use longer worms (not Zoom "finesse" worms).....I use Zoom Trick Worms or NetBait T-Macs. They'll stand a 1/4 oz up. In full disclosure though, I don't catch much on shakey heads anymore.

1/8....3/32...1/16.... Depends on the current and depth I'm trying to fish.... Sometimes I'll jump to a 1/4.....

After running my cake eater above, today the shakey head was the best bait for us. Caught the most fish, and best size, on them...AND we were using short finesse worms. Sheesh.

I've never used one. If I have to finesse the fish into biting I usually just find something else to go do.

This^ I never use them. I keep a pack in the boat if someone goes with me for them to use if they just want to catch a fish and haven't been before.

It's just a downsized worm and head. They catch fish. Depending on the average size you're targeting, especially 3-pounders or smaller, they're great. Big fish eat finesse worms, too, but not like the smaller ones. Good technique to nail a limit if you get in a pinch.

At the Classic on Logan Martin back in '98 I was with Larry Nixon on the first day as an observer. He hit about two or three areas targeting big fish early and then about noonish or 1 p.m. said, "Well, I guess I need to go catch a limit."

He whipped out a Carolina rig, had a finesse-type worm on it and nailed a few without missing a beat on a mid-lake ledge. It wasn't his favorite thing to do but he was on the board with some weight.

This time of the year; I am using Yum Pumpkin Heads or XCite X-Lock's. 1/4oz'-5/0 hook w/ Stanley Itza Bug and 3/8oz-5/8oz 6/0 hook on a big 10" XCite Maximus worm.
The big hooks add a lot of weight; but they are expensive.

Caught a 6lb 2oz on the Itza Bug rig Friday and a 7lb2oz on the big worm rig 2 weeks ago. Catching everything 10-20' deep.

You should try the shakey head weights with the Robo floating worms. They have great action. and good color
