What does it mean? I know some folks swear by these type bullets, but I wouldn't know what the difference is from a regular soft point deer round. Someone enlighten me, please.

The front half is thin jacketed and expands easily. The rear portion is walled off from front half with jacket material and filled with lead. This retains what's left of the jacket after expanding and keeps driving after the front part expands/fragments. Benefit is expansion on impact + penetration of the rear shank.

Do they perform a lot better than Sierra Game Kings or Core-Lokts? I mean, enough to switch to them?

yes, Federal has a lot of loads with them. Go with the lighter bullet weights in each calibre....130/270Win, 140/7mmmag, 150/30-06

They perform well at any range, at any angle, on any size deer.

I may have to give them a try when I run out of my current stock. I was thinking about going with the Hornady GMX or Barnes ttxs. It'll be for 270 and 25-06.

I shoot the 130 in my 270. I shot the 140 in my 7mm-08. I really like them.

When I hunt pigs over corn I shoot a Browning A-bolt in 25-06 and bust pigs with 100gr Nosler Partitions.. Not had one walk away yet.

I have them loaded for my 25-06 and 7mm-08.
I haven't shot anything but paper with them but will probably hunt with them this year. I've been using Accubonds and like them pretty well.

I reload nothing but Noslers for my 30:06. They are great performing bullets. They are very much worth the switch.

N2,

IMO the GMX and the TTSX are too hard for our smallish deer. The bullets are tough and I think too tough to expand like you need on a deer.

The Nosler Partition is IMO the best all around "animal" cartridge ever made. With the exception of the bigger African Dangerous critters IE(buffalo, hippo, Elephant), the Nosler Partition is very very very hard to beat for an all around bullet.

I actually loaded a batch of their new 190 LR AccuBonds. (Long Range) I'm going to the range today to shoot both of my 30:06's with them and several other loads I've worked up. Anybody going to Styx River Shooting Center today? See you there.
