Just leased some property near Alex City... does anyone know the best place to rent equipment to prepare a food plot? There are places "cleared" for plots already, but they have a lot of spring "weed type" growth. So, probably just need to mow it down and give the dirt a good turning.

Or maybe even know of anyone that actually offers plot preparation services that I could hire?

Three suggestions:
1. Check Craigslist, including the Montgomery area. I know there is one guy who offered this service for "Elmore County and the surrounding area".
2. Call Woody Baird at The Shur Shot in Alex. City. Anyone doing much hunting in the area is probably in his shop at least occasionally.
3. Search this site for "Tallapoosa". I know there are clubs mentioned on here from Tallapoosa County. They may have someone in their club willing to do it.

do you have any equipment? You could just spray with gly, wait 2-3 weeks, then sew and mow......that way you'd just need a sprayer and bush hog....

I would recommend this method, or just spray and wait a couple weeks and sew cereal rye/crimson clover/yucchi clover, right before a rain.Do you have an atv? If so, you can buy a good sprayer to mount on it, for less than $200.

There used to be a company in that area called Choctaw Wildlife Services. A quick google search shows they were bought out in 2012. They may still do some plot work on if you can locate them.

I know a fella with some nice food plot equipment that is willing to trade tractor work for turkey rights on the right piece of property.
