There is roughly 1403 acres acres for lease on the Shelby/Bibb Cty line West of Montevallo. I know nothing of this land other than is avaiable for lease and it looks pretty good on the aerial. I do know it's within 3 miles of some privite land that has limited to no hunting and it has some really big deer. I don't think this is an area that has a lot of deer but it does grow some studs. I am interested in forming a club that the guys want to hunt and manage for big mature deer.
I'm thinking 10 total members and very limited guest. There would be 7 (deer/small game) memberships avaiable at $1200 each and 3 full (All Game) memberships at $1500 each. That will leave around $4000 budget to plant food plots.
I am also open to going with less members and paying more if that interest anyone as well.
If a club is formed it will be a trophy/mature deer that meet X requirements. This can be discussed if there is enough interest.
Shoot me a PM if interested.

152 Views and no interest in this land? Give me some feed back on what you guys don't like or the concerns. I'm flexiable on some things and some I'm not.
I plan to go look at the property as soon as I can. I shoud have some more info once I look at it.
I know many of you guys know what's kind of deer are being killed off the Cahaba WMA. This could be a special place right here in our home state if managed right.

If I hadn't already sunk. 1400 in my club I would be interested in a full membership.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I can understand that.
Guys I don't half way do anything when it comes to the hunting property I lease. I can assure it will be a well ran club with no drama or rules not being followed! I also have all the equipment needed to plant quality food plots. I think a 4K budget would cover the cost of some good food being planted.

Distance is my major factor...if I have to drive further than 45 minutes I will talk myself out of going hunting. If I have to drive 2.5 hours I might as well drive 4 to Kentucky or 5 to Mississippi. Mike if you start working on some property in paint rock valley in Jackson county or Lincoln county, TN, you will have to change phones from all the calls you will get.
If you want to always win, never play anyone better than you!

Casey I hear that....lol. I don't need this land but I've always wanted to try to manage a thousand or so acres around the Cahaba WMA. There are some beast coming out of that place so the genetics are there. This is the first tract I've found for lease near the place. I know its a chance in the dark but I'd like to give it a try if I could get some of these quality tight wads to come off some money If I didn't have land in 3 states already I'd lease it by myself then share all the pics of my trophy room on here in a few years. I'd need a new phone number then for sure

I am extremely interested in this. I just lost my family land private lease in Macon county that we had for nearly 25 years. I'm looking for a place that is managed strictly, because that's how I was raised to hunt. The location is great, because I live In Vestavia. Having a place to deer and turkey hunt that close to home would be ideal. I'll know more Friday as I am trying to make arrangements to go look at the place.

I may be interested, there are some stud genetics in the area. We had 600 acres not far from there as the crow flies, that produced a 164. I'll have to think on it a bit, but will also mention it to my dad. He said he may be looking for something close by, since he will be too busy to do his normal 5 weeks in Missouri this year.

I'm interested in the deer and small game. What's the chance you're going to do it? Pm me your contact info. I live in Centreville so that's great for me! Also will it cover school age kids?

Man I would love to jump on board with ya and I too have always wanted to start a club up with growing big deer the first priority, no matter how much it costs in countless bags of protein and selective shooting, but like other folks have mentioned, the distance from my places in navarre beach and lowndes county is an issue. If there was a comfortable camp house on site, I would have been the first to reply.. Good luck and hope it works out for ya and you get the right kind of partners
