Getting out of the Marine Corps in June or beginning of July and starting the job hunt. Everything I've seen posted is looking for 10 plus years experience. Wondering if anyone knew of anything that didn't have that requirement. I work with unmanned airplanes and specialize in avionics. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you're going to have much trouble getting a job in Huntsville with those credentials.

You know I thought that till I started sending my resume and certs around. So far most companies seem pretty dead set on around 10 years experience.

You might have already seen this in yesterday's Huntsville Times. There's a job fair for Veteran's and spouses in April.

Motivated Movers is always accepting applications and a management position may be available for that market as well. I know it is not avionics but it could be a job while you look.

You almost have to redo your resume for every job. Many resumes are scanned based on keywords. If you are missing those key words, then your resume never gets looked at by human eyes. Then you have to get past the HR idiots. You can always take your resume to a place of business and drop it off in person. You never know who you may run into or may hear you talking to the receptionist.

You may have to get your foot in the door at another location and then work on getting Huntsville.

Just to be honest, it is real tough right now with the DOD budget crap. ERC, 5 Stones Corp, ASRI, Northrup Grumman, Boeing or another DOD contractor may have openings come up from time to time, just have to keep searching as much as you can.

Think Columbus, MS

Both Stark Aero and Aurora Flight sciences are there. Both make UAV's.
