Around this time last year that dead guy was found in a tripod in Green county. Anyone ever hear if they solved that case or made a ruling on his death?

We had one in Sumter county. Mexican from Los angeles was dead in a tripod about 1 mile off of hwy 17. Wearing only boxer shorts. I was in cobbs crossing at the time and was there that Sunday am. Never forget it. Said he died of hypothermia

That's fhe one i was referring to. Got it confused with Green Co got done reason. Def a strange situation. I'm personal friends with the man who found him. OMG what a horrendous sight to walk York in the woods. I saw pics of what he was face to face with before even realizing it. It was rough on him. Guess ol hose just decided to commit suicide in a very strange way.

Sounds like a drug killing. Cartels pass through central ala on their way to Atlanta. My guess is this guy messed up, was killed, and left in the tripod as a message. what else is a dead Mexican from los Angeles doing in a tripod in Sumter county al?

Just my wild ass guess though. The whole "only a mile" off of 17 suggests someone was looking to dump a body and probably found the tripod by chance.

Yeah the guy was definitely shook up. Mexican fell in a branch about 100 yards away from tripod. This is where we found his pants and wallet. The wallet had no $$ which is strange for a guy from CA to be here with no $) they say hypothermia got him. All he had on was boxers and a "grill" on his teeth

This tripod had a canvas cover that the Mexican burned. We were glad our guy didn't climb up and pull the canvas back and find him. He was able to see him from the ground before he climbed.

I personally know the old man that found it. Not a very good thing to climb up on your tripod. Weird part is his clothes were scattered around the stand. The camo mesh used on the stand had been partially burned as if to start a fire. He was still wearing his boxer shorts. The stand was a long way off the road back in the woods. The road getting to it was so bad that the authorities had to use club members UTV to remove him.

Questions? He died of exposure? If I recall correctly temps that saturday (day before he was found) started in the 30s then up to the 50s overnight the night before he was found. Why in the world would soneone who is cold start taking clothes off? Why would one wander out into the middle of nowhere take their clothes off and climb in a stand only to die? No drugs in his system? More questions than answers. The whole thing is just weird to me.

Sounds to me if he got his clothes wet in the creek, he took em off. Maybe everything around was too wet to start a fire and the only thing dry enough to burn was the camo mesh on the stand.....and that's as far as he got.

People often strip off their clothes when lost or panicking.

Seriously? You got a link to that? I would be interested in reading about it. I wonder why people would do that.

Sounds plausible. Also highly likely drugs were involved. A mile off the road thru the woods is a pretty good distance.

The body sends a last ruch of blood to the extremities right before death from hypothermia. The person is already experiencing hallucinations at this point and actually feels hot and removes there clothes to cool off. During a rescue and clothes are found, the body is never far away. Not sure if this is what happened here or not, but many documented cases of people undressing right before death from exposure.
