Point is, you do not own the animals, you only own the land... So yes you have to follow the states rules for hunting their animals.

I have friends with fenced in enclosures, they still have to go by state hunting seasons.

While we're on the subject of RIGHTS, if you don't have the MINERAL (subsurface for those who don't know) rights you can't do that either. All you are allowed to do is live on TOP of "YOUR" dirt. You don't own the oil, gas, minerals, rocks, etc UNDER the ground.

I don't have mineral rights on the place I own (old Scott Paper Co land) fwiw. Wish I did. I keep thinking I'll research who does (family who sold the land to Scott Paper kept half, other half was sold to Sun Energy I think) and try to buy it back.

We don't own the deer but the state dosent mind that we fence them in an introduce genetically altered freaks to the herd..

High fence owners have to abide by state regs the same as anybody else.
