None of mine have put 3 in one hole, or a cloverleaf for that matter.
I tested some loads today in my 30-06 and 1.5 was best I could do with 180 gr sierra and 46 gr varget. Gonna test 46.5 gr and 47 if needed.

I dont shoot for groups. When I kill a deer I dont plan on shooting it 3 times, so I dont practice that way.LOL...... So, you only shoot one shot to sight in your rifle or when changing loads?

best I ever had was a Browning A-Bolt 270 with the BOSS. with 130gr federals it would touch holes on three shots. This was shooting from a vise.

I was referring to these two paragraphs have written it before and I will write it again: these groups are achieved on a word processor, not in the field. At best what the writer means is that once, when the stars were momentarily aligned in the sky, he shot a 1" group with the test rifle. He will never admit in print that he shot nine other groups ranging in size from 2" to 4" with the same rifle.
However, the inexperienced and the gullible take these "test reports" to heart. The most absurd exaggeration is accepted without question, and endlessly repeated (and embellished) online. The boldest liars become authorities on marksmanship and rifle performance. It would be depressing if it were not so absurd!
