I'm buying about 150 acres or so to build my house on and I plan to put big game fence around my property. My question is should I try to bait up as many deer as possible before I start the fence?

Yea...keep atleast 1000lbs of corn out at every feeding area thsn the week before they finish and thwy only got a small opening let somw dogs out on your neighbors property and run all the remaining deer off his property in there. Then get you about 5 900lb protein feeders and cut down all timber except 10 acres and plant a huge foodplot so you can see the deer all the time and know exactly what you have. Oh then go get you some darts and dart all your does so you can ai them with semen from 200in deer. Oh and make sure you buy about 10 breeder bucks to get you by until your does start producing. Then make sure you kill every doe that is inferior. Then invite me to come and kill your 245in pet 2.5 yr old buck....lol

what is a poors????

it's illegal to bait em in after the fence is up, but you can do it before you build.

Bait them all in and then build all four sides at the same time so they don't run out from the noise.

Will track deer in Marengo, Greene, Sumter, Wilcox, Perry, Hale counties.

Just build the fence and import 500 Illinois bucks. Better be prepared for the grocery bill though.

I personally prefer to bait them into 10 acre sections of fenced in areas. It's easier to cull the inferiors this way. Then using Flexible fence tunnels I connect all the fenced in areas as I choose. It makes quarantining extremely easy. I would also suggest one way trap doors with weight sensor plate to only allow bucks over 250Lbs. to be captured in from the wild. Remember a high fence is like a graveyard fence, it's only up because things are dying to get in not out. Good luck and good hunting. BTW, wind direction should be considered when building your fence.

You should bait them *outside* your fence to get rid of as many as you can. Then kill the rest inside the fence. Then import a dozen bucks and dozen does from northwest Illinois.

I'd do this but just plant a peanut patch about 5 ft x 5 ft and then get a depredation permit and shoot all those pesky Alabama deer at night.

Just how much would it cost to fence in 150 acres? Probably could have bought 300 acres, and forget about the fence.

Haha, I wouldn't want the poors (peasants) on my property either.

You'll probably have to razor wire the top and put cameras on perimeter. The poors have been known to cut holes in fences...

After fence is built shoot them all if you can. Bring in some Northern deer outside of cwd area from up north if legal? Ohio would be good. You will then be envy of all neighbors.
