Thin cotton gloves is all I wear(rifle or bow) hunting. I keep my hands in my pockets or when it gets really cold I'll use a handwarmer muffs.

I've also used the gloves that were mittens, but would fold back. It has half fingers under the mitten part. That's worked well for me, too.

I also cut the end off the index finger on my gloves. I just don't feel like I have as much control through a gloved hand.

If you have a caliper release, you can sacrifice your release hand glove and cut a slit in the palm for the release while it's strapped to your wrist. One benefit of a hand-held release is having it clipped on the bowstring ready to go and just use your gloves or take it off at the moment of truth. Either way, practice with what you'll have on. Gloves can throw your sights off.

I have a pair of north face fleece gloves or the thin UA fleece and put a spandex primos camo over it. It's good till about freezing then you need hand Warmers, but you can put them between the gloves on the back or palm of your hand. Works well for me. And the pair I have been wearing, I have worn a hole through the tip of one thumb and it works great on a phone.

Gloves can throw your sights off. This was my first time to finally hunt with my bow. I don't understand how glove effect the sights. Can you explain?

I use the Manzella Forester ST TouchTip gloves and love them. They make them in warm, warmer, and warmest I think. I use the warm for early season and warmer for late season when it's really cold and put Hot Hands hand warmers in my pockets if it's in the 30's or lower. The warmest if I remember correctly was really for below freezing temps and were a little to thick for bow hunting. They fit better than any other gloves I've tried and have a tight wrist band which my release fits over nicely. They also have finger tips that work on your cell phone. The only problem is I can't seem to find anybody that sells this particular model anymore. They also have a model with a hole in the wristband for your release but to me it just complicated things since I have a release that folds away.

Gloves can throw your sights off. This was my first time to finally hunt with my bow. I don't understand how glove effect the sights. Can you explain? It can (may) affect your anchor point. That's why it's always best to practice the way you'll hunt (the clothes you'll be wearing). Bulked up clothes on your bow arm may cause string slap (and a miss). You won't find out until you take some shots with your hunting clothes on.
