Under the old BCS we would all be getting ready to watch Bama play FSU in the nat'l championship game. The playoff lets the teams settle it on the field. I'm a Bama fan, but I will be the first to say they were not the better team on the field last night. I see the playoff expanding in a few years to 8 teams. It's just a matter of time.

If you are the number 1 or 2 team the playoffs are not really to your advantage. This year that hurt bama next year it may help, you never know.

I'd be for an 8 team format if we could do away with some of these ridiculous .com bowls.

I am not for an 8 team playoff. Why should an 8 placed team be rewarded with the opportunity to win a championship? #1 vs #2 was good enough most of the time. 4 teams takes away any confusion/bias at the end. 8 teams is too many.

Agree, and go back to the BCS system to determine the 4 teams. This committee "drama" crap is ridiculous.

I don't see how using a poll to pick 4 teams instead of just one adds any credibility to the NC farce.

Personally I would like to see d1 condensed down to 8 conferences each with a conference championship game then seeded for an eight game playoff.

In college basketball the thing that excites me is not watching Kentucky or duke beat everyone but a Cinderella team like gonzaga make a strong run and I think it would be appealing to most folks to watch a tcu or Boise st play it out against the bigger teams.

Of course the issues would be that if a team like Missouri had beat Bama then they would represent the sec. The other issue is that it would move the decision making from one of mans opinion to it being played on the field which I am all for.

I'm a BAMA fan, and honestly, I never though they should have been in the top 4, but neither should FSU. There's several teams that would have spanked BAMA last night. Regardless of how the playoff is determined we shouldn't have been there.

I agree. I think with more teams in we would be seeing Oregon vs TCU for all the marbles.

The BCS and the 4 team invitational is a joke. Have a real playoff and take all the voters and computers out of it.

They were not a consistent team all year, and had a lot of miscommunications on field. They barely won several games that should have had a much higher point spread if they were the team they were rated as being. I personally did not want to see them go the playoffs because I had a strong feeling they would be embarassed. Like I said, I'm a BAMA fan, but I'm also realistic. Realistically, there are several teams, that were better, that would have beat them.

That's the same with every team in the country. They were a td away from playing in the nc after all. They definitely belonged there as much as anybody, 2 teams had to lose they happened to be one of them.

I'm NOT calling for an 8 team playoff. I simply stated that it was only a matter of time. I do think that without the playoff we were not getting a true nat'l champion. Bama did not deserve to be in the title game and was weeded out along with FSU.

I like the .com bowls for one reason and that reason is for every .com bowl aired if keeps approximately two basketball games off of TV.

Alabama lost one game and is the SEC champion. FSU was undefeated and is the ACC Champion. How can you say that they didn't deserve to be in the playoff? If not them then who!?! They were not the best teams and they both got eliminated but I'll be dang if they didn't deserve to be in it.
