They don't get it. Never will. Yeah, I get it. It's a DEER. Nothing more, nothing less. I've killed a trailer truckload of them from a spike up to a 165" and in the end they're still just deer. To me, a big part of the enjoyment of hunting and killing a good deer is sharing it with others. I live in a small town and when you kill a good one, everyone hears about it. Sure there are some that will talk and make accusations and that's fine. It doesn't bother me in the least. If I ever get to the point where I kill a good deer and feel like I need to keep it a government secret for fear of what others say or do, I'll hang it up. It's not that serious to me.

Guys, I understand it's just deer hunting. But, when other people make it so bothersome to even have fun on your own property, then it's just best to keep quiet. That's a personal decision. I know a lot of you work very hard too. I don't get too worked up over the lies and rumors. It's keeping idiots off of your property that's the problem. If I am paying money, using my resources for a piece of ground that is MINE, then spending time keeping idiots off is not how I want to spend my deer season. The road hunting, trespassing, poaching, baiting on the line, etc gets to be more than what a person can handle. In the end it is a deer. There are more important things to worry about. BUT, a person should have the right to enjoy their land without the headaches that come along with the aforementioned problems. So to me, it's not worth talking about. I'd rather shut my mouth, enjoy my hunting, share it with a few close friends and family, and leave everyone else out of it.

Just curious, but who told you that deer was killed near Hamilton?
And he's not in rut. He's just big. Where this deer was killed the rut is still a month or more out. Matt, if you would have left it alone everyone would have thought it was killed in Hamilton. If that wasn't true, you didn't have to correct them and set the people on to where it was really killed.

I haven't said where it was killed, just that it wasn't Hamilton.
When I see misinformation about where deer are killed on here I always try to correct it. Why? Because I can't stand all these pics being thrown around every year about deer being killed in 10 different places. Not sure why it bothers me so much, but it does.

Recommend you look at the wikipedia article on the "Streisand Effect".
This post will quietly go away if you let it die.

I am married so, therefor, I see and hear stupid $%^& everyday that I have to just let go. You need to try to do the same.

The only thing I'll say is that you've got WAY too much traffic through your barn/shop/garage if those pics would allow anyone to identify who/where you are from those pics.

The day that deer hunting brings this much stress to my life I will sell every damn thing I've got and y'all can fight over my lease.

Or atleast since blackhawks been gone.
