Anyone had any luck during bow season up there. I haven't been since last year and for some reason it was a slow then. Thinking about hunting it a few days over Thanksgiving .

I will quit hunting all together before I attend another gun hunt there. Life is sort enough already.

I'll hunt it during turkey season but forget it during rifle season. Too many idiots in the woods.

Well I went over Thanksgiving, had a good time and it was crowded but still plenty of room to hunt. I will say that place needs an antler restriction put in place like some other Wma's. The yearling bucks are being slaughtered up there.

There was a 15pt that weighed 220lb on the board at the check in station and a couple other racked bucks . Most of the others seemed to be spikes and a few does so far this year. I saw a nice 8pt last year that a guy killed on one of the powerlines.

You can never believe what is written on the board.

"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history.

I agree but the game warden has been at the check in station on most of the gun hunts recording data. I have personally seen a lot of the spikes and forkhorns being killed. An antler restriction of 3 on 1 side would protect about 90% of the bucks being killed IMO.

It's a shame that could be a great place to hunt. It has some of the most beautiful terrain in the area. I do know some people who have land around it leased and they kill some absolute giant deer. The deer get ran to their property from the pressure of the first gun hunt.

My brother took me hunting at Little River back in the early 90's trying to get my first deer. We saw a monster 8pt and I completely choked like a little pansy & couldn't pull the trigger. I just let him walk away. I don't know what the quality is like now, but back then there were some sure enough hosses cruising those woods.
