The other evening I was hunting and nature called. I almost didn't make it down the tree till I had to drop my pants. It was a place I had killed a deer a week before; GOOD PLACE.

Does anyone know for sure how long it will take till I can hunt that spot again.

If you had eaten corn, you will need to wait until 10 days after the last kernel is gone.

I would have climbed back up and kept hunting.

Depending on the spot, I don't like to hunt the same stand more than once every two weeks. A Lot of times when I have had to answer the "call", I noticed it will be gone the next time I hunt. Coyotes probably eat it.

I wouldn't worry about that at all. There is literally crap all over the woods from all kinds of predators. I have seen deer standing over gut piles.

Where I hunt in Namibia, the Professional Hunter insists you dig a hole at least 12" deep and bury everything. Luckily, it's semi- desert, so the digging is easy

Next, time take a stick and dig a hole and cover it if your worried about it. I'm like you, I treat my really good spots as if they are sacred ground.

Sounds like you are already over hunting that spot anyway. I would worry about all the other human scent more than a couple of turds.

I do this when poopin and huntin. Not a foot deep though. Just enough to get it covered.
I reason that the microbes and bacteria break it down much quicker. But who knows?
