I don't know when my daddy started taking me cause I don't remember not going! I do remember following him until I either gave out or he got tired of walking slow for me to keep up so he would carry me!

I'm just a couple months shy of being 32 years old now and he's still my favorite hunting partner!

Killed a couple, by accident, in the 40s in the Pascagoula Swamp of MS but started seriously hunting them(making my own diaphram yelpers) in the 50s around Natchez MS.

1981 Greene County, I was 18 and this was the first place I saw gobblers strut and gobble in the wild. Killed my first one in 1983 in Butler County. I actually quit fooling with turkeys in 1987, I had 2-3 years where I hunted saw nothing heard nothing, just started fishing instead., started back 1991 and stayed with it since then.

I went for the first time last year and got on a turkey the first time out. A friend of mine was calling for me....and then we went before work darn near everyday trying to kill that bird!

Next year 2004, I killed a double double, 2 super jakes and each had 2 beards, 3 seconds between the shots. in Texas

2005 The next year I did not get a shot period.

2006 Shot a young mature bird

2007 No shots opportunitites and did not hunt much.

2008 called in a rally good mature bird and killed it

2009 Killed the 4 beard monster bird

2010 killed Three birds in Texas

1989 I was 14 hunting by myself off a 4-wheeler around the house. Everybody in my family deer hunted but I was the only one wanting to chase turkeys.

Then next one I kill will be my first. Only started in on Turkeys last spring. I couldn't ever get my dad to go when he was living. He said he'd hunted as a kid too many times out of necessity. He didn't want anything to do with it after he got out of the service following WW2.
