Pop OP spike P Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 36 Shelby County	Finally after about 4 years of letting some walk, getting busted by others, frustrations of "if only........" I dropped one Friday the 17th at about 5:30pm. I went back to a place I let does walk off the day before after telling myself I was going to shoot one . I was hunting near a swamp and brushy cutover and a forest of trees ,watching 5 does for about 40 minutes. I knew it would be dark soon and really didn't want to bother with dragging one out in the dark on a Friday night so I drew back on the nearest one when about 70 yards behind her I noticed this buck step out. I let down and grabbed the glass and looked at him. I said to myself "yep, I'm going to wait on him." It took him about 15 minutes to get to 40 yards when a doe spooked and caused all of them to run off. 10 minutes later the buck walked back in with a couple of the does. My heart is going crazy by this time and my hands are shaking. He finally works his way to 38 yards and turns broadside! I had to pause and and take 3-4 deep breaths and then put my pin on him and let my 3 blade NAP Spitfire fly. He ran about 40 -50 yards and dropped. Double lung pass thru with a great blood trail into the cut over. That was awesome but waiting on my son and son in law to help me drag him out in the dark and making it a family affair is my favorite memory. My trophy to date!
